A fine map of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and the western part of Russia, with decorative title cartouche.
Johann Baptist Homann was born in Kammlach (1663). He was engraver, map-seller and geographer to the Kaiser of the Holy Roman Empire (1715). He also was member of the Prussian Royal Academy of Science.
The map includes all of Poland and Prussia, along with Kieve, on the Dnieppr. Embellished with an allegorical cartouche and coat of arms.This is a curious later edition of the map, with a modified privilege and the date of 1739 added to the title.
